Crazy thought here... but what IF the listeners actually enjoy it more without announcers? We're all a bunch of radio people who hate change... I've seen alot of research that shows some JOCKS are a huge tune-out when following the PPM listening data. As an aside - people keep referencing KJR-FM in Seattle - YES it is a HUGE success - but there are other stations in the market that have jocks... maybe there is room for both? Giving listeners a choice is never a bad thing. Oh, and the amount ROGERS saves by cutting the jobs is not the point - it's the number they save X 15 (or more) - and that is the number that gets reflected on their EBITA which is how stations are measured in the real world.
