I certainly agree with many here that it is distressing to watch what is happening to CFRB.
What they need is an "End Run". Something or Somebody that will get Toronto to pay attention.
When J. Robert Wood was hired to "fix" 1050 chum in the late '60s, he brought in Big Jack Armstrong. It was as if he had set a bomb off in Toronto Radio. Listeners had never heard anything like him. Suddenly CKFH was no longer The Hippest Station in Town.
In '94 when I went into Windsor/Detroit to "fix" AM 800 CKLW, I put Dr. Laura on the air. (we were one of her first stations in syndication) The Word of Mouth was amazing. Listeners had never heard anything like her. Advertisers started to call.
Jack left CHUM in less than a year. I lost Laura to WJR Detroit in about the same time. But they did what they were supposed to do. Get people talking about us.
They were.....The Outrageous Thing.
They also "inspired" everyone around them. And helped Change The Culture. I'm convinced Laura helped me get the many other things that needed to be done much more quickly than I could have otherwise.
So...Who or What is CFRB's End Run?
