Looking for something different to watch, we pulled one of those $1 DVDs off the shelf (we keep picking them up at Dollar Tree stores in the States) and ran a double bill of Carnival Of Souls and Circus Of Fear. Loved Carnival, still haven't figured what the second one is about despite reading 6 summaries..it's also the absolute worst quality transfer I've ever seen of anything, with vertical green stripes through the first half, barely any colour, ten seconds of leader about halfway through. It's not the chopped up 68-minute version, it's not the cheesy black and white release, and as far as I know it's not a public domain film. Somebody must have had a TV print squirreled away. Strange.
