Thank you once again for supporting the board. We now have enough days to carry it on till next July.
Now let me address some concerns.
The format. A few months ago I did do a poll on the different kinds of formats the existing one or the on that is on Radiowest. Most people took the side of the existing format, citing reasons of that "it's there" and you don't have to go into different topics to see any new messages although there is an indication on when the topic was updated. Of course there is the issue of taking the time for setting up a new password for yourselves,(what's this I hear ? Another password?) Then going through all the topics one the individual may be interested in.
Facebook once again was mentioned. How many of you know that there is a F/B SOWNY page??
My dear friend Mr. Andrews is correct. There is a prototype of a new SOWNY.CA. I had many questions about the "new" format, similar to this but because of our different schedules we couldn't not get together to discuss my issues, including costs, the ease of handing out passwords, and editing and deleting messages,
something i'm completely comfortable with through boardhost.
Another poll that I did was to find out if you go to "Memeber's boardhost" or Sowny.ca first. It was Boardhost as i'm sure that is the site that most of you have book marked. At the top of the main page there is a note saying move to sowny.ca , and while the #'s for that as the first board to go to have grown in the last 2 1/2 years, but it has taken that long to grow the #'s from 15% now to 30%.
It has been suggested that I let people know of the plan to shut down the association with boardhost but I fear that I will be getting E-mails saying "what happened to the board".
Maybe that's just me, but if it ever got to that point as it stands I don't have time to answer. any E-mails about it.SOWNY is about 3rd on my radar now.
So "if it ain't broke why fix it"
If anything will go it's going to be sowny.ca because it's the most costly of everything with the hosting,the and the name. The agreements are up in April next year. The main reason that it was suggested to start sowny.ca was to do ads and I must admit that has been a colossal failure.
Don and I have stopped doing the "show". At first it was because of my health issues, but later it seems that both of us in our own ways have lost interest in it. It was a wonderful experience.
Yes I may be getting "hosed" but it works, and that's the main thing!
Once again I thank you for all the support that all of you have given me in so many ways.
Hopefully I won't have a start of 2010 like I did this year.
There is still 7 weeks left this year and as i've learned anything could happen ;-) Sincerely
