How will Bill Carroll spin how he got bounced from mornings at CFRB? 1. I'm doing this for my family. A 9 A.M. start gives me more quality time with everyone at the homestead. 2. Have you seen the opportunity for new commercial tie-ins at a later time in the day? I'll get to take over ALL of the Motts' home improvement accounts PLUS there's a couple of jewelry acounts I haven't nabbed yet. 3. Doing mid-mornings gives me more time to hang with my CFRB co-workers who just didn't see enough of me on early mornings. We will bond more. 4. Doing mid-mornings gives me time to advise Mike Benedixon on PD-related matters. Give him a few guidelines from what I learned over at 640. 5. I realized I had learned everything I needed to know from being an early morning host. 6. I didn't feel I could give another 5 years on the job doing early mornings on the air. No disrespect to Andy Barrie or Don Daynard. 7. Who the hell listens to the morning show on a radio station? 8. Let's face it 'RB ain't what it was. Not the big time any more. And I worked the big time, baby (see US career details). 9. I still can great exposure at: http://billcarroll.ca/home 10. If I relinguish the morning show at CFRB I may be able to secure a cool syndication deal.

Larry About your number 8 reason; Billy must have seen this coming...and about a week ago he started yaking about the Yankie health care debate and how he had been on air for half an hour on an LA talk station discussing the subject. He then babbled on about how several years ago the American station offered him a job, but for various reasons (which he didn't disclose) he declined the offer...but he then said he hoped to do more work with them...I wonder if Bill will fly the coop and go Stateside, a place his knuckle dragging views are likely to be more mainstream...

Reason 11: From his blog bio at the address cited elsewhere in this thread: "Bill was a devoted teacher for a few years at the broadcasting program offered at Seneca College/York University. Since hosting the morning show at CFRB, he couldn’t continue what is now a passion to him but he sees himself eventually returning to lead the young minds." Perhaps eventually has come now...

Before Bill tries to get out front of the media blitz and in-house speculation of how he was bounced--er, moved side-wise, okay not sidewise, er downward....present your own 10 reasons Bill might use to describe why he decided to step down now. You don't really think that Bill is going to admit or suggest that Astral told him he was vacating the morning spot do you? Bring on your 10. Bill, you can submit/spin too.
