Guy who did the 1am Update during boxing started by rather pointedly exclaiming (paraphrasing), "Geez, I'm still here," as though he didn't quite believe it. 2am SportsCentre kicked off in similar fashion with the two anchors (sorry, don't know their names) looking over their shoulders at desks and computer screens devoid of live bodies. This time, it was, "Y'know, last night we had 400 people back there and tonight, we've got, what, three working with us." Sounded like a whack of folks were MIA. More CTV cuts?

Possibly the event went long, past the time when most of the rest of the staff were due to go home. When I was working at CTV, you should have seen the stampede out the door as soon as the news finished at midnight. If the newscast was pushed back by programming, the grumbling was unbelievable

There may be nothing to it, Mike, but SportsCentre was on at its regular time. It was hard not to find their comments curious, especially twice, an hour apart. Don't see anything on the Web. Guess we wait.

Union Shop. Fights went long. Late SportsCenter was put together by 11. No need to keep the staff there for nothing. Just the overnight feed people and a writer. No cuts.

they were making a joke about the last time they worked together .... and had a massive crowd behind them on that tour of communities.. gosh now we are trying to read things between the lines of adlibs...
