What simply executed hardware and/or software do you recommend for a reporter calling by either home phone or cell phone to gather audio comments on stories? The lowest cost and mid-price cost solutions, with thoughts for and against would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Not to sound harsh, Andy but I think it's time you hired a talented radio engineer, at least on a part-time basis. I know you're running a small outfit but there are out of work engineers out there who would be happy to work with you as you can afford it. There are too many suggestions as to how to get phone audio on the air. But it's still going to be phone audio. There are much better solutions that won't annoy your listeners.

And don't hire anyone who thinks CFTR is doing a dandy job of putting streeters and actualities on the air. A lot of their reports are still unintelligible.

All done under the spell of cheapdom. They get free Rogers "devices" to communicate with the station. It's just a "book entry" between divisions of the company. "nuff said.
