Interesting post from earlier today at InsideToronto. A show where city councillors discuss the issues? As overtly political as Newstalk 1010's weekend programs might get (or have gotten for a long time), but I'd give it a listen out of curiousity.

Oh Lord, I hope that is just a very diplomatic way of saying, "Thanks, but no thanks." Seriously. The notion of having a local issues program featuring local councillors has merit, but as guests, not as host. Additionally, I would nominate ABB - Anybody But Bussin. I'd rather have a proper moderator (ie: professional, well-informed, balanced & personable - unlike certain councillors I can think of…) and get a couple of councillors from opposite sides of an issue have at it. Then you could avoid the appearance of bias and mix it up with councillors from around the city (remembering that the city includes Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke & East York). Then you can also address the fact that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions for this city.
