Not easy to find info on this ... at least not for this Research Analyst. All I could find was the following news item. But my vague recollection is that, as you suggest, things didn't work out for some reason (and that the event was cancelled rather suddenly, which might be why I can't find another news item on it). Rock in 2005 at New Year's oldies party; [Scarborough Mirror Edition] MICHELE McLEAN. The Scarborough Mirror. Scarborough, Ont.: Dec 24, 2004. pg. SCP.00 Copyright Torstar Media Group, a Division of Toronto Star Newspapers, Limited Dec 24, 2004 It's not too early to get tickets for an oldie's New Year's Eve party. "Half of the tickets have been sold already," said Sandy Graham, of Sandy Graham Productions, who is organizing the 1050 Chum Greatest Rock 'n Roll Oldies New Year's Eve Bash. "It's going to be a great time." The event is being held at the Delta Toronto East Hotel, 2035 Kennedy Rd., just north of Hwy. 401. Tickets include live entertainment, a three-course dinner with wine, champagne and party favours at midnight. Roger Ashby is hosting the event and The Fabulous Backbeats, The Route 66 Dancers, Amy Gaudaur and comedian host Joey Vance are on the lineup. The Route 66 Dancers and 15-year-old singer Gaudaur are from the Beach. Also included in the ticket purchase is a draw for a two-night stay at the Delta Toronto East, brunch and tickets to a Mirvish theatre show. "I think people are finally optimistic again," Graham said. "They want to venture out again for New Year's. They've been through so much the last few years with SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) that they want to go out." Tickets are $125 per person.
