As announced on the Newstalk 1010 Facebook page, next week Ryan Doyle & Tarek Fatah will be filling for Bill Carroll. Jesse & Gene will be doing Ryan's shift on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening. Barry Taylor will fill in on Monday and Tuesday. Should be interesting...

This might be considered as an "on-air" audition to gauge audience reaction with a view to improving the current line up. CHUM used to do this back in the last century, bringing in jocks who would "try out" on the overnight shift, using fake names, so JRW could hear how they would sound.

Jesse and Gene are the reason I got into radio! They were always entertaining and I listened to the compilation CD's that they put out and realized that there is nothing in Toronto today that can compare to what they were doing fifteen years ago. I think it will be interesting to hear how they sound after all this time. I know I'll be listening!!!

Just to confuse the issue with a few facts, I got a note from Gene just now that says: "...they asked if we would do it to help promote CFRB's charity the Hospital For Sick Children. Instead of paying us, they'll be making a donation to Sick Kids in exchange for us reuniting for a few days of fun."

J+G got me into radio, and since the left the airwaves, I never really became a "fan" of announcers. Great move by RB though - I will be actually tuning in with reason for the first time ever to RB. Hopefully, this leads to something for them at RB or showcasing to another station.
