To nobody's surprise the Toronto Maple Leafs / Boston Bruins game 7 final was a hit for all networks that broadcast the game. In Canada over 5 million tuned in on Sportsnet, CBC and City TV stations. I don't watch much pro sports on TV, esp. with gambling having taken over and then some, but I was out and about around the neighbourhood that evening, and every TV that was visible through houses' front windows was tuned to this game... and this is in what's normally Sens territory, but there are many diehard TML fans out here, including one who does play-by-play for the local Junior A (CCHL) team.

The Leafs are the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL. Both teams are ratings juggernaughts and do well in the regular season, but in the playoffs, not so much. While it has been almost three decades since the Cowboys last won a Super Bowl, they have managed to win five of them since the Leafs last won a Stanley Cup.
