They went from having no anchors to now having one that's official: Cynthia Mulligan has been named the new anchor of CityNews' 5 & 6 PM newscasts. She will still be available for some spot reporting duties, which is something she says she wanted to continue being able to do. 

Mulligan has been at City for decades, originally starting in the newsroom at 299 Queen St. W. as a writer. 

In other CityNews news, Caryn Ceolin, who had been covering international stories for the show as a producer, is being absorbed into Breakfast Television and will appear on the morning program from now on.
