Posted by Kelly R/So Cal Certification as a loan signer shows potential clients that you are serious about your occupation and hopefully, you'll learn a thing or two. A few years ago, certification was no big deal but times change and now, I think it's important. Of course, the culture has been changed by who? The vendors who provide the classes, or course! I have personally audited several vendor's classes and courses-of-study. I would never recommend any home-study or on-line course with the exception of Kathy Poston's loan signing manual (The Signing Registry). Kathy is first-class and so is her publication and it would be useful for any state but it is not state-specific. For certification that will really mean something in our industry, the best bang for your buck is with a vendor that offers an all-day, live seminar. You must get real opinions from real people before you invest/spend the money for a certification class. Remember that you get what you pay for, however, the most expensive is not always the best. Get testimonials! Ask around, all over the boards (there are many!) and see what others are saying. Due to my type of business, I have to know what's out there. Get opinions from other LSA's. Good luck!
