Hi Kate,
Last year I lost about $5000 in unpaid invoices.
This year, through August I'm owed about $1700. So, I have engaged a collection agent who charges about $10 per customer to collect on the first phase. You pre-purchase 50 customers for $700 and it's good for a year and they are terrific. I'm now stating on my invoices (just to signing companies) that after 30-45 days the invoice will go to collection.
