Make sure you know all the notary laws of your state inside and out. California has an excellent handbook for notaries, one of the few states that do provide a notary with all the information they need.

Don't be surprised if you don't get any offers. Most signing agents do not want to train their competition, especially in a saturated area - and CA is saturated with signing agents. Also, a lot of companies won't allow the signing agent to take another person along as trainee.
