Volunteers are needed to help care for 46 neglected Arabian and American Saddle Horses in Newfield, just off of Rt. 40. (I live in Washington Twp., it's a 15 minute drive - not that far). When this story first appeared in the Courier-Post and on local TV news, the response was wonderful. But alas, it's not the story of the day anymore. Nonetheless, money and help and hay are still needed. The custodians are worn down with the chores, and volunteers are at an all-time low: 1, maybe 2 a day. They need about 8 volunteers a day to clean stalls, water, groom and otherwise care for these horses. Please call Garappo's Feed Store @ 856-697-4444 for information on donating money, hay, etc. Also call them to volunteer. An SPCA volunteer's pass must be picked up at the Feed Store prior to entering the farm to help. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. And thank you, from me and those beautiful boney horses.
