Greetings Xaman.
I loved the 'Sri years', too.
Angel of Water, with Alice Coltrane-off Illuminations was a standout song for me.
There's a note he bends up to near the end of the track which says more about the soul of Carlos than any other-I kid you not!
The Milagro cover amused me. Yes, I'm Jewish and returning to my faith in a big way.
The bringing together of the peoples by a musician has been achieved to some degree before (Bob Marley) and Carlos must receive our thanks for his own message of togetherness.
I'm sure he is playing his part in the eventual peace of this planet, as indeed we all are.
His salutations in Hebrew at that time were well meant, but I'm not convinced he knew about the context of how that phrase was supposed to be used!
Either way, he's always heartwarming to watch and listen to, and as long as he isn't trying to adopt a messianic approach and take himself too seriously, we could use all the Carlos Santanas we can get!
I have learned to pick and choose from his catalogue.
So much great and inspirational music over four decades.
An amazing feat.
Shalom
Jeff
