The latest print issue of Rolling Stone magazine has a small blurb about the Woodstock 40th anniversary package. Producer Eddie Kramer talks about Carlos Santana coming in and redoing his guitar part on Evil Ways. According to Kramer, Carlos' original guitar part was out of tune, he also states that Carlos used the same amp and guitar that he played at the 1969 Woodstock concert. That is interesting, I've read somewhere that Carlos destroyed that Gibson SG because it never stayed in tune. About the custom made all transistor Gallien Krueger amp that Carlos used at Woodstock, Carlos stated somewhere that it was chosen because he was going to need something loud. I always like that amp, the way it was upholstered, like a custom hot rod or low rider.
