The above George Benson and Carlos Santana take on "Valdez in the Country" is cool. Cold Blood's cover of this Donny Hathaway gem is how I learned of it. The Cold Blood First Taste of Sin recording includes Coke and Pete Escovedo on Timbales and congas. Other future Azteca members, Mel Martin and Pat O'Hara play here as well.
I recently ran into another version of the same song by the Peruvian group Black sugar.
By the way, the Cold Blood photos are the most recent line up's, not the ones who recorded this version.
