This is one of the better interviews that Carlos has given. Analogies and metaphors are kept to a minimum. I think that getting a good interview has to do with the interviewer. Bruce is a good interviewer, he knows Carlos and Carlos knows him, so there is no bs. I got the feeling that Carlos understands that Rockline is about rock'n roll, so he stuck close to the subject. There were a few gems, like when he is asked about his unique sound, he replied something like he always tried to sound like BB King or Otis Rush but he always sounded like himself, so he just quit trying. Then he made an interesting reference to the famous visitations by departed dear ones, to be something that has to do with his subconscious.
Obviously, since he was promoting his Las Vegas residency, the music played tended to be Santana hits, although there were interesting lesser known "hits" used as "bumpers," one of them was Santana's cover of Buddy Holly's "We'll Alright."
