I listen to a new station in Los Angeles, sadly I don't think it will last. It is called Sound 100.3, very eclectic. Sounds like the early FM stations. I get surprised everyday. My cool songs of the day ate "Mustang Sally" by Wilson Picket, and "MR Soul" Buffalo Springfield, They play songs like this in the middle of tunes from a different format or genre. Keith Carradine in one of his last interviews talked about this station. He liked the eclectic format.
I like going out of town and listening to the radio, Los Angeles radio is too formated, they only played what has been panel tested. I love my culture and Spanish language. I can't stand Spanish language radio in L. A. Half of the stations are in Spanish, all aiming at the lowest common denominator: formulaic sirupy songs, idiotic narco corridos and smarts challenged talk.
