EL CHICANO BAND JOINS WEST FEST’S 40TH
ANNIVERSARY OF WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL
El Chicano, one of the most recognizable and successful Latino rock bands to come
out of East Los Angeles, will be one of the acts scheduled to perform at West Fest’s 40th
anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Festival of 1969.
The event will be held October 25, 2009, 9am to 6pm at Speedway Meadows, Golden
Gate Park, San Francisco, CA USA, and will feature many of the same acts that played in
the original Woodstock Festival 40 years ago.

not) the premier Chicano sound in the country.

celebration include Country Joe McDonald (Country Joe and the Fish), Denny Laine
(Paul McCartney and Wings, Moody Blues), Lester Chambers (Chambers Brothers),

Flamme (it’s a Beautiful Day), Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Terry Haggerty (Sons of
Champlin), Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, John York (the Byrds), Leigh Stevens (Blue
Cheer), Michael McClure (Beat Poet) and Ray Manzarek (the Doors), Michael Narada
