I have the same question. Some of the material appears to be from Greg's solo album "Roots," maybe some from Abraxas Pool, and probably some Greg Rolie Band's live versions of Greg and Carabello's days with Santana.
I played the heck out of Roots in the last week. I have Abraxas Pool but the cd is damaged. It was stuck in a cd played and there is a huge scratch about halfways. Only two songs play.
Maybe about three years ago I was teaching in a small suburb of Los Angeles, Huntington Park. There is a huge avenue named Pacific. When you are there, it feels like you are walking a street in Mexico City, Guadalajara or any modern big Mexican city. I used to go there record hunting. In one store they had tens of Abraxas Pool's cds, it wasn't that old yet and it was in the cut out bin already. It was less than five bucks. Today I regret not picking up a few and storing them.
Here is a good record hunting tip. Go into a Mexican music store, one with blaring speakers on the sidewalk playing annoying banda music, and sells all the top Spanish language releases. Go to the cut out bins. Their customers don't care or are not knowledgeable of English Language music, or plainly other genres. They are full of treasures, and junk too. I've found multiple copies of Gato Barbieri's rare releases, El Chicano, Randy Newman, Tito Rodriguez, you know that band, the one that plays "You Dropped the Bomb on Me," I found like ten copies of it, sealed and not cut out, and many others. It is a lot of work, it takes time, and at my age physically demanding. But as a life long collector, it is rewarding.
