I totally agree that Carlos yielded a tone from his solo that is unequalled.
This one song helped me to understand how restraint, passion and power can all be had in one note.
At the risk of sounding biased, I never did care for Johns contribution at all.
It was too 'wordy' and not at all reminiscent of Coltrane. In my opinion, Johns tone was harsh and needlessly brutal.
It had none of the spirituality and melody from Carlos.
Perhaps it should be called 'Shame sky'!
