If you ask me, that "corpse" he's referring to is his own musical creativity.
While I feel that Carlos' is entitled to his own opinion(s), he doesn't seem to consider that he's also disrespecting the talents and contributions of his fellow musicians of that time, many of whom are proud of what they did as well as when HE himself was playing what both critics and his fans all agree was his best work.
I'm OK with musicians moving forward and not resting on their laurels however far back that may go, but the fact that most of his music for decades now has been pop fluff or at it's worst complete garbage, maybe he realizes that he can no longer create so he purposely berates that period. Would he say the same about Mile's and Coltrane's 60's work?
