I agree with The Independent review;
I heard this Saturday and it is really horrible; replete with tired playing, awful dated production and apart from some old Chester Hammond playing, this lacks drive, energy, vision and balls.
The sound is limp and very, very dated, an outside producer might have helped but the airless, lacking -in - sonic depth and un-dynamic production alone scuppers this hodge podge of songs which clearly have been lying around in Carlos' vaults for some time.
The synth pads are very dated in sound but I realise many on here were gasping for ANYTHING that absolved Carlos after the execrable Guitar Heaven, possibly his worst album ever
but I am afraid it's not this??
I have heard Michael Shrieve's upcoming release and here is a Santana related person
who is stilll
pushing boundaries and making NEW music.
Carlos is always talking about vision, spirit, etc but actually never shows any in his work?
The fact that no musicians are credited is pretty bogus too, sorry Moonflowers
but the game is UP!!!
