Yeah, the album is definitely in the can unlike some of the projects Carlos has mentioned wanting to do in the past. In fact, Carlos made it sound like the reason Ronald Isley turned up on Santana IV was as an exchange for Carlos producing this record. Basic tracks were laid down in one week back in 2015 so it's just been a case of overdubs, mixing, and mastering since then.
I'm just curious where the end result is going to fall on the spectrum between "Santana with Ronald Isley on lead vocals" and "Ronald Isley with Santana as backing band." Given Carlos' involvement with the production, they will hopefully meet at a good spot in the middle.
