Observations from Last Nights show in Detroit

This was my 55th concert starting from 1978, so I am not sure I can remeber every show but I think this was the worst show I have been to. Now "worst" for Santana is still good so I am grading on a curve. The setlist was absolutely terrible. Lots of songs from the new Album and frankly, they are not good. Destruction of the mind, destroyed mine thats for sure! Cindy's song was OK except it was really creepy how Carlos played right next to her basically right in her face through the whole song...Ray Greene was not impressive to me but I see that it was a cost cutting measure getting rid of the horn section and Tony Lindsey and replacing them with him. Carlos was his usual talkative self and at least he now rips everyone and not just conservatives. I know this might now be a good thing to state but I think Cindy is nowhere near most of the drummers Santana has had. Benny looked like he aged 20 years with the silver beard. My wife and the other couple we go to for the last 7 or 8 shows were not impressed either. I did like Carlos stopping the show mid - Foo Foo to basically have everyone stand up and get happy. The background was definitely underwhelming as well, usually the screens, etc are bigger. I will leave the last comment to a woman leaving the show and saying "he has a gigantic collection of great songs and all he did was pray"
