Lotus: The Complete Edition

I just got my copy of this and am thrilled with the packaging and cool stuff that came with it. However, either I'm doing something wrong or we, as the buying public, have been duped. Can anyone help clear this up for me, I'm not the most tech savvy guy, and this has me stumped. On various parts of the packaging (including the disks) there is the SACD logo indicating that this material is in Super Audio Compact Disk format. I have many disks from various artists in this format, and the proper DVD player to read and decode the information. No adjustments or tweaking is needed or available, it automatically decodes the information on the disk and a separate indicator light appears to let you know you're in SACD mode. I let it play through Meditation and part of Going Home, but no indicator light. Disappointed, I removed it and put in my SACD copy of Abraxas, the decoding light lit (as it should) before any audible sound could be heard. Now, I understand that this Lotus release is a "Hibrid" and will play on any CD player, but does that also mean it's not a "true" SACD and therefore can't be decoded as one? Any advice or explanation would be most appreciated, thanks to all that can help explain this.
