Posted by jstrain Honestly, I think it's a problem with the way the tables are set up downstairs. It seems like a few small groups of 4 to 8 people who all know each other will sit at a table with their backs to everyone else. Maybe they don't want to be bothered, but the impression I always got when I walked into that room was that you had to already know somebody. The old church didn't have that problem. The tables were too small to become the territory of any one group and there weren't many tables to begin with. People seemed to move around and everyone was packed into a smaller space. I have met people near the dance floor area and on the outside patios. I have also met a few people while I was waiting in line to get into the place or waiting in line for the bar. People seem to be more likely to talk in those areas. The main social area seems to be oddly non-social.

I started going to Area 51 before Sanctuary opened in the old church location. The downstairs area at Area 51 always had this problem before and it seems to be back now. It was my main concern about the move back to that site.
