Fabulous performance at the Electric Proms. In the early 1950s, as a young matelot, I seem to recall that I saw Dame Shirley perform at the Victoria Palace in one of the Crazy Gang shows. She sang "Burn my candle at both ends". I cannot find anything about Dame Shirley appearing at the Victoria Palace.
This was not just singing. This was Performance Singing. (Apologies to M&S)
