how laughable to talk about great singers and to mention 2 stars,mercury and carey,who can't sing.these two people are overrated pop phenomenons,not to compare with bassey,who really has a great voice and a singing technique much better than popsingers usual have.bassey is in a different league,a true singer comparable only with dorothy squires,judy garland,vikki carr.and not to forget-freddy mercury never sang opera,he just sang a popsong in duet with an opera singer,carey never could sing,she always had a very thin falsetto voice,always singing flat,not a ghost of a chance to sing in one class with a true star like shirley bassey.and basically its nonsensical to talk about the greatest singers of all time,i have studied classical singing in germany and for some people streisand is the greatest,for others it's garland or bennett or sinatra,it's definitely a matter of taste.
