I agree totally. I think The DAME knew she had this voice but performed in the only way she knew and how the public expected. Her early recordings 60s/70s are examples of quiet controlled singing however when she sang live in those days it was the " give it all you;ve got " school of performing . Fab.Therefore they sounded quite different. I think 1988 was the time when she started sounding like her recordings I remember particularly SAD YOUNG MEN at the R A H and No place like London... one of my favourite concerts .. mind ya so has every one of them .. last week ish at The Rondhouse was just mind blowing i just adored it.... so pleased this album has been recorded with taste and not a rushed job as the others seemed to be especially the arrangements of Movies album some gems but mainly ..... different to this new CD ... I m not going to bed on Sunday evening ... so i can download from itunes uk from midnight !!!!
