Agree...besides from the snippets I also get the impression she sounded fresher and stronger live than a few months before in the studio. She sounds fabulous on the album, no doubt (don't get me wrong - pure magic etc.), it's just that live she held notes longer, the tone was fuller, vibrato more controled, the sustained notes had no strain quality at all - the studio mic somehow magnified a couple of those little things (e.g. on Almost there) and the tone is alightly less ringing - I guess our Dame put a lot of effort into rehearsing for the Proms and warming up 'cause there she sounded next to flawless and a couple (at least) of decades younger than she is. Not criticizing - just an observation of mine. The material is GREAT. Almost unbelievable nowadays people write songs like these!
