I too have now heard all the disc. Until fellow Bassey fans have a chance to give it a spin, suffice to say that this is quite possibly the best disc our Dame has recorded since the early 70s. You are all in for a very special treat.
One or two observations. It is superbly produced and arranged. Secondly, the vocals are relaxed, free and pitch perfect. Lastly, ignore the previous post about 'God Is My Witness' - it may just be the finest cut on the disc. But, then again, there are several contenders for this accolade.
This is a record of the very first order. This is not nostalgia or any other permutation of wishful thinking: this lady sings plaintively, tenderly, urgently, soothingly, vampishly - and with a whole host of other adverbs that you can think of.
This is something very special.
