Thanks everyone - I had committed the cardinal sin of not putting the date on the cassette label!
And the date you give ties in nicely with my other search. On my recording, the concert is introduced for Radio 2 by a continuity announcer with a very familiar voice - none other than football results supremo James Alexander Gordon (JAG) who retired from the regular BBC staff in 1990 but is still going strong at the age of 73 with the 'full classified check' on BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturday teatimes. So, as it turns out, he's almost a contemporary of DSBs!
