I totally agree – “No Good About Goodbye” would have been a perfect theme for Quantum of Solace – especially with the word "solace" in the lyrics.
As far as I can tell there are at least 3 other Bond-related musical references in this song:
1) the melody from David Arnold’s QoS score
2) the bass line from John Barry’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service theme
3) the lyrics “before you make your move, think of the consequences” were taken from an unused Bond song which David Arnold and Don Black had been working on titled “I Will Return”.
Let’s hope EON productions do the right thing and bring Bassey back for Bond!
