Hello everyone-
I don't think there is a Bassey fan new or old on the planet who has either waited so long to hear their Dame sing like this-, or wished to hear her perform live or work with so many professional musicians and producers from the contemporary artists of the 21st Century, or to hear such a wonderful album such as this.
We have been begging for a project like this for years and its remarkable its finally here-
I think its safe to say-
Dame Shirley Bassey is unique- She is the only performer and singer not of only her generation but of the generation before and generations to come-
She should be given a Governmental Health Warning before one presses the "play" button-
The songwriters of this album have connected with her so personally, and in such an intense way,ever the words, let alone the melodies stay with you all day- and she sings with such honesty and purity, tenderness, conviction and power...
and gentleness too....
nearly every song reduces you to tears.
That's the Power of Bassey- still more powerful and intense and so personal than ever before....
Thank you David Arnold- and Thank you Shirley for
giving us "The Performance of Your Life"
With Tears- of sadness, happiness and Joy- thank you.
Here's to "The Performance - Volume 2" !!!!
