what can I say only that the Dame has been absent
from any british tour for so long. I remember the Dame when she was making regular British tours. first saw her in 1957 when she was on one of the piers in Blackpool. My Grandmother took me to see her and wow! i was hooked, and have been a fan since then. i have seen her at almost every venue since then, and remember the early Blackpool Opera House appearances, especially the big show of l961 when she shared a season in Blackpool with Cliff Richard. Was fortunate enough so meet with the Dame in those days, and remember shows at the 'talk of the town' London when Ken Hulme died. This was a difficult performance for her, but she carried it out with professionalism, as only she could do. We want more! but should realise that there has to be a limit at what she can actually do these days. Having said that she is still the most amazing performer of all time, nobody has come close, and I doubt anyone will! Shirley is the greatest entertainer of all time, and I hope, just hope that she will give us another tour, when all of us fans can say thank you to her, for an amazing career in which we have shared.
