Yah, Shirley was never a soul singer, and The Doors weren't a soul band. There is also a track from Ella Fitzgerald and no way was she a soul singer, either. (I will include a link to the tracklist)
Having said that I am a big fan of 1970s soul, especially Philly Soul.
