For a Don Black composition the expectations in advance were very high. I find it a most beautiful song, with great lyrics. But not an easy song.
As a ode to all admirers and fans it works in that department (lyrics) but as a so-called swan song it lacks the more stronger approach like the song "The Performance", written especially for DSB by The Pet Shop Boys.
But DSB sings "I Owe It All To You" beautifully and the orchestration is wonderful. And ofcourse I am really grateful that I'm 1 of the admirers around the globe, but at the same time it makes me a bit sad that an era is coming to an end...
