Better to ignore self-absorbed, judgmental narcissists. They interpret everything as a personal validation, because they will use anything they can scavenge to cover up the giant sucking black hole where their self-esteem ought to be.
If you smoke, and want to do it only during new moons that fall during leap years, hey--knock yourself out. And if you're deluded in any way about your smoking habits, why should I care unless it's making you uncomfortable and you ask for my advice?

: Buy some nicotine gum and chew it when you
: get
: that obsessive urge to smoke; use it for at
: least three weeks. Pursue vigorous exercise
: until you lungs ache. I think the
: "occasional smokers" posting here
: are all liars, basking in their closet
: smoker denial systems, as closet smokers are
: all highly addicted; you are no different
: and will never be an occasional smoker, so
: you have to give up cigarettes completely.
: You will miss it, maybe every day, but it

: feel "real." That is, to achieve
: your fantasy of being a nonsmoker rather
: than a spineless one.
