I guess the point (myself) was saying is that you are not a closet smoker if you are out in public. I understand his point but do not agree with it. When I first started closet smoking my live in girlfriend smoked and I would smoke when we would go out, and later would take drags off hers when she was not paying attention (so I thought). Well she quit so the only place left to smoke was the smoky bar. I cannot smoke at home because she no longer smokes.
I guess part of the excitement is being able to smoke in public but not be seen smoking by non smoking friends.

: One option here in OH, is definitely a
: seasonal option, but most of the watering
: holes that also tend to serve food do have
: an outdoor sitting area for the convenience
: of the smoking patrons. During the winter
: months, I am usually limited to smoking at
: home.

: I have to disagree with 'myself'.
:
: the smoky bar provided perfect cover to
: indulge especially if you did not know the
: others at the bar.
:
: that option is now off the table. damn!

: no, for me the concept of a closet smoker is
: that no one can know that you smoke (either
: they are friends, family or strangers). so a
: bar isn't exactly the best place for me to
: be a closet smoker.
:
: i preffer to do it in my home (in the
: balcony, not really inside the house) when
: there is no one else there.
:
: also in my house i can use my laptop to see
: my favourite smoking websites while i smoke
: in the closet. i wouldn't feel comfortable
: to surf that kind of websites in public.
:
: so, for me the ban hasn't been a problem at
: all.
