Last night I couldn't keep it a secret any longer to my girlfriend of 2 years. If you want to know my background check the previous post...
Let me just say all hell broke loose, and she threatened to leave me. As others have noted, the biggest problem was not the smoking itself, but the deception. I felt horrible making her cry, but knew I had to tell the truth. I told her that I broke my New Years Resolution to quit completely, and that I would not lie to her again about it. So basically she could either leave me, or accept me as a smoker. Perhaps it sounds selfish on my part, but I believe I am showing her respect by being completely honest.
It would be a total lie if I were to say "I'll NEVER smoke again!"
I haven't actually had a smoke for a few days, which is fine by me... I just want the FREEDOM to be able to light up with other friends who may smoke, or when I am bored by myself. I guess you could say I am more psychologically addicted than anything else. Nevertheless, I am who I am and she nor anyone else can take that from me. We'll see how it works out in the next couple of weeks.
