Hi,
I'm new here, I was looking for a post, and to post on tips for staying in the closet, but skimming through the first couple of pages, I didn't see any, so I hope you guys don't mind me starting this one, or starting one at all.
First off, I enjoy being a closet smoker, I enjoy smoking (only about a pack a month to satisfies me) and I enjoy not having to deal with the negative social constrains attached to being an open smoker. Only a handful of people know I smoke (strangers in the cars next to me, one of the thousands of people at work I don't know, doesn't count) and they only found out by accident. Curse them, now they have a hold on me! But I don't plan on quitting anytime soon but I try really hard to keep it a secret (I'm even using google incognito for this post). Anyways, what I do:
--I NEVER smoke at home. Sometimes I really really want to, but knowing me, I'll probably be found out red-handed. If I go outside, the neighbors might see me. So I mainly smoke at work, especially if I'm working into the late hours, when no one is around, I have the entire outside grounds to myself.
--I buy one pack at a time, and use one lighter, that way I can keep track of where my cigarettes are. And they are always in the hidden pocket of my purse, who's going to look in my purse right?
--Once in a while I smoke in the car, but always with the windows down and never using the car lighter or ashtray.
--I also keep a small portable bottle of febreze with me and spray myself if I'm going to be around people right afterwards. Hand-sanitizer and lotion too for the smell on my hands and of course breath mints.
--I always pay with cash. Now I know, using my credit card at a gas station isn't going to show up what i bought, but why not be on the safe side? It gives me a piece of mind.
--I try to wear the same clothes when I smoke, like a jacket, that way I don't expose the smell around too much. And of course, blow the smoke away from me.
--Since I'm around a lot of people who do smoke, staying quiet when the topic comes up may raise a flag or two. So as hypocritical as this sound, once in a while I'll throw in, oh, how many cigarettes come in a pack? How expensive are they? Stuff like that to throw off suspicion... Yeah, I know.
So that's what I got....anyone else?
