i'm so glad i did get it over with! mom made a comment the first time she saw me smoking... saying she wished i wouldn't and that she regrets she ever started. but she hasn't said anything since. i have gotten where i'll smoke openly around the house, including while i'm typing this!
ashleigh (girlfriend) encouraged me to come out too. her dad smokes and she said the same thing about how parents will be disappointed at first but will then accept it. she's a little older than me and a pack-a-day smoker, and now that i'm open about it, i've just about caught up with her. college courses start tomorrow, and if they're as hard as i expect, i might be smoking more!
