The main choices are:
(a) tell everybody en masse.
(b) let people figure it out one at a time.
I've always chosen (b), but choice (a) gets it over with most efficiently. In any case, don't bother to hide it anymore. The worst of it is over (your parents). Life will be more relaxed without the secrecy.
My style of letting the information out was just to smoke when I needed to, and let that fact speak for itself. I don't go out of my way to tell people, nor do I go out of my way to hide it. There are still people who don't know, despite this policy. I don't care if they find out. I'm not afraid or ashamed. There's nothing wrong with smoking.
