Thank you I told my daughter yesterday well she caught me she found my cigs in my car I forgot to hide them. So after I told her I lit one up its nice now not hiding it now. I just hope she doesn't try it now
: Welcome! While I can't tell you how to advise
: your daughter in your situation, the best
: thing I CAN say is that you're not alone in
: starting smoking later in life. I would
: advise, however, that your "secret
: smoking spot" not be indoors. There's
: only so long that can be covered, especially
: in a carpeted space. Outdoors is great, and
: bathrooms are easier to clean to a point
: that the smell doesn't show.
: As for the daughter: age is going to be a
: huge factor in how you address the
: situation. If she's far underage, that
: probably means keeping it to yourself for a
: while. If she's older, you might choose to
: talk about it, but consider that if she's
: old enough to have friends that are smoking,
: she might try it herself.
: The difference in being anti-smoking for so
: long will make it very difficult for you to
: have that talk and justify it with
: negatives, since you probably haven't
: experienced any negative side effects
: yourself yet. Parents that are life-long
: smokers almost have that easier, since they
: can discuss the cravings, the coughing, the
: potential for health problems. It could be
: years before you experience anything like
: that, and if your daughter learns about your
: smoking, she's probably not going to
: understand that you tried it as a stress
: reliever, and since it worked, you've
: decided to continue.
: If there is a way to be honest and up-front
: about this with your daughter, I'm not sure
: what it is, especially if your goal is to
: prevent her trying it herself.

: I started smoking last week over a stressful
: day. A coworker gave me one of her cigs a
: vs120 slim. I really injoyed it I even
: bought my own pack that night.
