I can totally relate to this. I've smoked on and off since I was 13 too. Back then I would sneak a cigarette from my mother and run off to the woods to smoke it. I did this for quite a few years, always smoking alone. Nobody knew my secret. I even had a few girlfriends that smoked, but I would never smoke in front of them. In fact the few times I did smoke in front of people I knew was back in college when we were out drinking or at a party. I never considered myself a smoker and would sometimes go months or even years without a cigarette. I'm 43 now and still enjoy smoking a cigarette, particularly when I'm out of town on a business trip where nobody knows me. I'll smoke around a pack a day during those times.
It's funny you mention Marlboro 27s. About 4 years ago I was stuck in an airport and was just sitting in the bar waiting for the weather to break. I started talking to the gal seated next to me and she mentioned something about going out for a cigarette. So I joined her. She was smoking Marlboro 27s. I'd always smoked Marlboro Lights, but one drag off a 27 and I was a convert. They deliver much more flavor and have more of a kick than Lights, but are not as harsh as Marlboro Reds... Now I want one too!
