The whole act of smoking, lighting up, inhaling, exhaling and mastering it was what lured me to start with. It wasn't the nicotine I was after initially. The nicotine addiction will creep up on you. Oddly, though, when addiction kicked in for me I didn't flip out. I wanted to be a smoker and knew it would happen, so when it did, it was just part of the process in my mind. Somehow it was confirmation that I had become a real smoker and that didn't bother me.
